He bought her a bowling ball with the intention of using it, expecting Marge to say that she doesn't need it because she doesn't play bowling.
Marge, knowing his intentions it not impressed by the gift, but she decides to tease him by going bowling herself. While at the alley, she meets Jacques, a charming French bowling instructor, who offers her lessons. Jacques begins to fall for Marge and invites her to his apartment, leading to a marriage crisis between her and Homer.
